Your base setup
Pick your bike and tell us about you. Your numbers update as you go.
Check your sag
Measure from the rear axle to a fixed point on the rear fender, straight up and down. Use the same two points each time. Enter all three in mm.
Still not right?
Change one thing at a time, about two clicks, then ride the same section again.
Fork bottoms hard on jumps
Fork compression 2 clicks in. If it's still bottoming, add 5 cc of oil per leg. Keep going past that and it's time for a stiffer spring.
Fork feels harsh on braking bumps
Fork compression 2 clicks out. If that doesn't help, try rebound 2 clicks out, since a fork that rebounds slowly can pack down.
Front end deflects in chop or on rocks
Fork rebound 2 clicks out, then compression 1 click out. Check that the tire pressure isn't high.
Bike pushes wide in turns
Fork compression 1 or 2 clicks out so the front settles. Next, slide the fork tubes up 2 mm in the clamps. Check your race sag too.
Rear kicks up off jumps or square edges
Shock rebound 2 clicks in. If it kicks on sharp hits only, take high-speed compression out 1/4 turn.
Rear wallows or squats out of turns
Shock low-speed compression 2 clicks in. Then recheck your sag.
Rear packs down in whoops
Shock rebound 2 clicks out so it can recover between hits.
You've tried it all
Clickers only go so far. Worn oil, tired springs, or the wrong valving can't be fixed from the outside. Bring it in to SS3MX.
